All the ingredients are present to cook up an unprecedented number of people at President Elect Obama’s inauguration on January 20, 2009. All are welcome, but you must have a ticket. The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies orchestrates the ceremony and all the day’s festivities, including the worship service, parade, luncheon, swearing in and a whole host of activities.
In January 2009, senators and representatives of the 111th congress will distribute tickets to their constituents who requested them. The process for requesting tickets is easy. E-mail or call your senator or representative to request tickets. You will see a link for 2009 Inauguration. Just fill in the requested information and you are done. Given the large number of people requesting you should get this done sooner rather than later. The JCCIC prints only about 250,000 tickets. I suspect that people will gather in and around the area. Be wary of websites that attempt to sale tickets. They are trying to swindle you.
I have not checked on hotel and accomodations, but I am sure everything is booked in the immediate area. This will be another piece if history to behold.
